Pod Point tops up Workplace Charging Grant

Pod Point has announced it is topping up the Government's workplace charging grant by £200, after it was cut in the last Budget.

The UK government reduced the WCS grant from £500 to £350 per socket but with Pod Point's offer, businesses can reduce Workplace or Fleet charging points by up to £550 per socket (up to 40 sockets).

Pod Point is offering its WCS grant for eligible orders until the 14th July 2020.

As of April 2020, the Benefit-in-Kind tax rate for full battery electric vehicles was reduced to 0% for tax year 2020-21, translating to significant cost savings for company car drivers who choose a pure electric vehicle.

Pre-coronavirus, this was expected to drive a significant increase in demand for company car EVs as well as the charging infrastructure needed to support them.

The offer by Pod Point aims to stimulate the market during this difficult time.
