China to create research centre for NEVs

The Chinese government is looking into establishing a national innovation centre for New Energy Vehicles.

According to Electrive, the centre will be mainly for EVs and PHEVs, and will be based in Beijing.

The centre’s purpose is to pool competences of the Chinese industry, universities and research institutions.

The objective is to study key technologies for NEVs to meet the growing demand.
