McLoughlin retains Transport post amongst Cabinet reshuffle

Patrick McLoughlin is to continue in his role of Transport Secretary, David Cameron has announced following last Thursday’s election victory for the Conservatives.

McLoughlin received 52 per cent of the votes, a majority of 14,000 in his constituency of Derbyshire Dales, whom he has represented since its formation in 2010.

McLoughlin became Transport Secretary in September 2012, and soon after his appointment, notably, had to cancel the award of the InterCity West Coast franchise due to major technical flaws in the bidding process.
