Jaguar has launched its pure electric I-Pace, which offers a range of 298 miles on a single charge.

The all-electric SUV was unveiled to the world in a live broadcast ahead of its public debut at Geneva Motor Show on 6 March.

It has a 90kWh lithium-ion battery and has a 0-80 per cent charging time in 40 minutes.

Designed and engineered in the UK, the I-PACE will be built in Plant Graz, Austria, as part of Jaguar Land Rover’s manufacturing partnership with Magna Steyr.

It joins Jaguar’s growing family of SUVs, alongside the all-new E-PACE and multiple award-winning F-PACE.

Ian Hoban, vehicle line director, Jaguar I-Pace, said: “We set out with a clean sheet approach to harness new battery electric technology with an architecture engineered from the outset to optimise performance, aerodynamics and interior space.

“The result is the I-PACE – a true Jaguar and a truly driver-focused EV. For I-PACE customers – fuel stations are a thing of the past, after overnight charging they’ll wake up every morning with a ‘full tank of fuel’.”

It is available to order now, priced from £63,495 in the UK [excluding government incentives]
