Uber to build EV charging network in London

Uber is rolling out a network of 50kW fast chargers in the city which will be available to drivers using its app.

The charge points provide up to 80 per cent of battery life in less than an hour.

The planned charging network is in its early stages, but it is estimated to be up and running in the coming months.

The company has also purchased an additional 100 Nissan Leafs, which are set to join the 50 that are already in operation.

Meanwhile, Uber will adapt its app to enable EV drivers to take on trips that place them near one of the chargers.
