POLAR and Charge Your Car networks switch to 100 per cent renewable electricity

The POLAR electric vehicle (EV) charging network is switching to 100 per cent renewable electricity from 1st August.

Operated by Chargemaster, the electricity consumption of the UK’s largest network, which includes Charge Your Car sites in London, will be certified and matched to energy generated from renewable sources.

With POLAR and Charge Your Car, Chargemaster operates more than 5,600 public charging points - more than 40 per cent of all those in the UK. In the first half of 2017, these supplied vehicles with more than 500,000 kWh of electricity.

David Martell, Chief Executive of Chargemaster said: “Switching POLAR to renewable energy is great news for EV drivers in the UK. It reduces the overall emissions of electric motoring, removing the upstream footprint of electricity generation in the same way as drivers have eliminated their tailpipe emissions.”
