Heathrow welcomes eVolt's 200th rapid charger

Heathrow Airport has had eVolt’s 200th rapid charger installed, after the charge point company was awarded a contract.

eVolt will provide Heathrow with 18 of its units as part of phase one of the London airport’s EV plans.

The rapids will be used to keep an expanding EV fleet moving, with Heathrow Airport switching to EVs where possible to reduce its emissions production.

Three rapid charge points have been installed in this round of works at Heathrow, which can charge two EVs simultaneously on 50kW DC and 43kW AC from 0-80% in 30 minutes.

These three units took the number of eVolt Rapid chargers installed in the UK over the 200 mark.

A fast Raption 22kW Triple charging unit that charges an EV to 80 per cent in one hour has also been installed.
