125,000 Audi diesel models in Germany recalled over emissions

News

Audi has been ordered to recall 125,000 of its diesel models in Germany, Next Green Car has reported.

This comes as the country’s KBA automotive industry discovered illicit emissions control systems fitted in the vehicles.

Reports by Reuters say that the issue affects much of the Audi range - A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5, and Q7 models.

The suspected illegal software is also believed to have been fitted to the manufacturer's latest Euro 6 3.0 litre V6 diesel engines.

The majority of the recall involves German-owned cars, reports Bild am Sonntag - 77,600 of the 127,000 ordered for recall.
