Free app to show best routes for EVs

A new app by route optimisation company Route Monkey will provide a complete route and recharging schedule for electric vehicle drivers.

Launching at the electric motor show Evolution in Edinburgh on 6 May, the free app has been developed with R&D funding support from Scottish Enterprise.

The app aims to remove the anxiety over the range of electric vehicles.

Drivers will be able to log into a web portal and enter their destination and vehicle model. It will then calculate the best route and have instructions as to where and when to stop in order to recharge.

In addition to this, drivers can enter how much battery they want their vehicle to have left at the end of their journey.
