Hyundai IONIQ buyers to be offered free Pod Point home charger

News

Hyundai has partnered with Pod Point to offer buyers one of its IONIQ Electric EV and IONIQ Plug-In PHEV models a free fully-installed home charger.

As reported by Next Green Car, the 7kW Solo chargers meet OLEV and Pod Point criteria, and charge more quickly than when an IONIQ is connected to a three-pin plug socket.

The new offer reduces any costs that might have been in place for those wanting a dedicated home charge point.

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK, said: "Making the switch from diesel or petrol to Electric or Plug-in Hybrid can be daunting for those new to the technology. With the IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid, it's essential to keep the battery charged and use it mostly as an electric car for maximum efficiency.

"Including a Pod Point charger in any purchases of a new IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid or Electric car makes everything as simple as possible for our customers. Pod Point's market-leading and user-friendly technology makes them the ideal charging partner for the IONIQ range."
