New EVs for London deliveries trialled

Two new electric vehicles are to be trialled in central London deliveries, the Mayor’s office has announced.

In partnership with electric delivery specialist and LoCITY Champion Gnewt Cargo, Nissan Voltia and BD Auto e-Ducato vans will be used over two years to test their emissions performance.

The vehicles are larger than most light goods vehicles and have an expanded capacity that will mean fewer vehicles are required for deliveries.

They will be fitted with hardware that can remotely monitor their environmental impact, range and energy consumption as part of the project, which is part of the Low Emission Freight and Logistics trial.
