Luxury resort’s rapid charger proves popular with visitors

Country Estate The Grove, has been delivering a five-star service to electric vehicle owners after having a Chargemaster rapid charger installed earlier this year.

Since April, the Chargemaster Ultracharge rapid charger has been used 500 times since commissioning in April.

The unit is available to members of POLAR - a UK public EV charging network.

The hotel, situated 18 miles from central London, has allocated a roped-off area adjacent to its VIP parking area for the Ultracharge unit, which can charge the battery of most electric cars to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes.

Byron Fiddler, rooms division manager at The Grove, said: “Our location means that we are easily accessed from London airports, motorways and train lines. What’s more, we are surrounded by some of the most incredible countryside, making us a very desirable location for electric car drivers to charge their vehicle while they dine, stay, play golf, visit our spa or grab a coffee in our lounges.

“There is a huge benefit to our business by offering the electric charging service, as so many of the drivers use their time charging their car to explore the hotel which opens their eyes to what The Grove has to offer. We are also glad to be playing a part in promoting clean energy.”
