Nissan calls for more government support to encourage EV uptake

Nissan Europe’s chairman, Paul Wilcox is calling on the government to step up to support EVs, AutoExpress has reported.

Wilcox has suggested that the government should be giving businesses no other choice but to use sustainable transport.

Speaking at the Nissan Futures 3.0 event in Oslo, Norway, Willcox commended what the city had done to promote the switch to electric modes of transport, which had resulted in 40 per cent of new cars sold being electric.

However, Willcox said that it was time for other governments to help people buy electric.
