Wandsworth Council to roll out more EV charge points

News

Thirteen new sites in Wandsworth Borough is set to have 41 charging points installed as part of the government’s £3 billion clean air strategy.

The new points are expected to be installed by the middle of September, and following consultations, could be joined by another 60 at 20 other locations.

The clear air strategy also looks to ban the sale of new diesel and petrol cars from 2040.

Environment spokesman councillor Jonathan Cook said: “We are providing the infrastructure that’s needed to make owning an electric vehicle a viable option.

“Within a few months there will be more than 100 charging points across the borough and we are looking beyond this to extend the infrastructure even further.”
