Fleet Heroes sought

Feature

Fleet vehicles are essential to the British economy. From the smallest company car to the largest logistics lorry, with a myriad of vehicles in between, organisations rely on fleets to ensure deliveries are made and business relationships forged.

EST awardsEvery year, the Energy Saving Trust celebrates the nation’s Fleet Heroes, in Partnership with The Guardian and the CBI.

Right now, we’re calling for entries for this year’s competition, which culminates in a networking event in at the Guardian central London office.

The benefits of heroism
With three million company vehicles on the roads, emitting 16 million tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, much could be done to reduce the environmental impact of the nation’s fleet. Many organisations - in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors – that take this issue very seriously have been rewarded for tackling fleet emissions.
This is because:

Environmentally friendly fleets are generally cheaper fleets: organisations could save a total of £2.6 billion a year simply by switching to greener vehicles. Customers value organisations that implement green policies.

Entering the Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards is a tangible sign that your organsation takes its environmental responsibilities seriously.

Winners feature in a special Guardian supplement and in leading industry publication Fleet News.
