GM trucks to use biodiesel

Fuel will help lower carbon dioxide emissions.

Car manufacturer General Motors has revealed that its new range of heavy-duty diesel powered pickup trucks will be fitted with biodiesel capability.

A blend of 20 per cent biodiesel and 80 per cent conventional diesel can be used in the trucks to help lower carbon dioxide emissions.

General Motors will use the fuel in its new Duramax 6.6 litre turbo diesel engine which has been substantially altered to allow the use of the more environmentally-friendly fuel.
