Scottish & Southern Energy |
The next decade is likely to see a significant uptake of electric vehicles, which some reports have suggested could reach around 1.5 million in the UK as early as 2020. Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) is taking part in a research and demonstration project for electric vehicles with several trials running throughout Great Britain with the first cars on the road later this year.
These trials will help in understanding what needs to be done to develop a viable market for electric vehicles in the UK. SSE is also a founder member of the Sustainable Transport Group which is exploring ways of making transport more sustainable in the future.
SSE is therefore excited to be associated with the Greenfleet Scotland event and as one of the largest energy companies in the UK SSE is uniquely placed to help companies in Scotland that are considering electric vehicles. We can advise on charging arrangements and provide a full installation service for charging points in customers’ premises throughout Scotland and, as the UK’s largest generator of electricity from renewable sources, can also provide the electricity to run the vehicles.
